It is well known that the content of the high density Lipoprotein (HDL) in serum is in inverse ratio to the incidence of coronary heart disease (CHD). This study showed that content and subfractions of the HDL in serum were increased markedly in those who keep on practicing qigong for one year.

It provides strong evidence for studying the effects of decrepitude qigong on anti-hypertension and prophylaxis and treatment of CHD.
