Trace elements play an important role in human health, trace elements in human hair may reflect the physical condition of human being. To do qigong exercises can strengthen the physique and cure illnesses. This can be reflected in the change in the content of trace elements of human hair. This paper is to show the change in the content of trace elements (Cu, Fe, etc.) in before and after doing qigong exercises in 60 persons in the national training classes named 'Monk Damo Turns His Face to Wall.' The instrument for measuring is automic absorption spectrometer. The results indicate that the change in the content of trace elements in human hair really happened. The change in the content of copper, in particular, has show a significant regularity after practising qigong. Trace copper not only participates in the process of blood building, but also affects the absorption, transfer, and utilization of iron. Besides, an appropriate amount of copper may have both preventive and curative effects on cancer. Therefore, it is significant and worthwhile to further study the change in the content of trace elements in human hair before and after doing qigong exercises and its curative effects in cancer as well.
