AST Chiro Qigong (AST Qigong) has been reported about the effects on several diseases and tumors hitherto. However, its therapeutic mechanism has never been reported and never been well known. Authors tried to report the effects of AST Qigong on gastrointestinal cancers using histopathological study. Immunohistochemical examination showed the decrease of the expression of Ki-67 antigen and proliferating cell nuclear antigen in cancer tissues after AST
Qigong therapy. This observation suggested that AST Qigong therapy induced the normal functional expression of cancer suppressor gene p53 that induces cancer cells into non-proliferative, quiescent, state.
