Effect of ki exercise on cardiorespiratory variables in human.

To examine the physiological effects of traditional Ki training, we investigated the changes of venous blood gas concentrations, blood pressure, heart and respiratory rates during pre-, mid- and post-time of Chun Do Sun Bup Ki training. Venous partial pressure of oxygen (PO2) increased up to 23% and partial pressure of carbon dioxide (PCO2) decreased down to 9.8% during the mid-time of the Ki training period. Venous concentration of oxygen (Ocot) and saturation of oxygen (Osat) increased by 2.5 ml/dl and 12.8% respectively. On venous pH, significant increase, that is, alkalization, was observed during mid-time of the training, with a mean increase of 0.027 pH unit. Blood pressure, heart and respiratory rates were significantly decreased during the mid-time of Ki training. From these results, we could suggest that the practical implication of CDSB Ki training has positive physiological effects, especially on the stabilization of the cardiovascular system in man.
