Influence of Guo Lin New Qigong on the Lung Function Microcirculation in Cancer Patients

To understand the mechanism of Guo-Lin New Qigong on anticarcinoma action, we studied the influences of Guo-Lin New Qigong on lung function and microcirculation. The characteristic mode of respiration of Guo-Lin New Qigong is: 'inhalation-inhalation-expiration' and sound 'Oh-' were estimated by spirometer in 22 patients with carcinoma, and the nailfold microcirculations of 114 Cancer patients were studied. The result showed that the 'tidal volume' of inhalation-inhalation-expiration increased 81.38% of rest respiration, the respiration rate increased 36.79%, and the 'minute ventilatory volume' increased 128.13%, the sound 'Oh' increased the lung capacity to 87.64% of tidal capacity. As to the nailfold microcirculation, we found that the number of capillary loops increased, the length of loops prolonged, the abnormally shaped loops increased, the aggregation of RBC were usually seen in nailfold microcirculation and the velocity of blood stream slowed in patient with carcinoma. But after continuous exercise of Guo-Lin Qigong more than 2 months, these abnormal findings were much improved. We conclude that Guo-Lin Qigong can improve the lung function and microcirculation of cancer patients.
