They will travel around the country with a group of 20 volunteers to hold talks, meetings, dialogues and exhibitions. 'Our aim is to convey to, and inform, the public that cancer is not a death sentence,' association vice-president Eng Tian Pen said. The tour, under the patronage of the Malaysian Guolin Qigong Association, was flagged-off this morning by National Cancer Council Chief Executive Officer Datuk P. Venugopal. Also present were association president Dr Amir Farid Datuk Isahak and his deputy Ho Ping. 'Today is the flagging-off of the tour to the South, after which we hope to make a trip to the North and then the East. We will be stopping in all the major cities,' Dr Amir said. 'We are promoting the Guolin Qigong method of fighting cancer. Being a medical doctor, I believe in integrative treatment, that is, combining conventional Western medicine, Chinese medicine, Qigong exercise, of course, as well as diet and even psychological therapy.' The Malaysian Guolin Qigong Association, together with its member associations, formed an Anti-Cancer Group a few years ago.
