Observation and spectrum analysis of peripheral microcirculation in qigong state Author: Qu Jixun 1//Wei Xiaoyang 1//Yang Shuzi 1//Sheng Gang 1//Xia Shuangquan 2//Liu Yongfeng 2//Shong Xinhong 2 Affiliation: Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China [1] //Wuhan Institute of Physical Education, China [2] Conference/Journal: 2nd Int Conf on Qigong Date published: 1989 Other: Pages: 79 , Word Count: 230 When man in qigong state, it is vary good for adjusting all kinds of physiological function in his body, and changing all kinds of physiological and pathological state effectively. To use modern scientific experimental technique and method for investigating the regulating mechanism and biological effect of qigong is very important. By videomicroscopy, video-recording and computer data processing system, the blood flow state of nailfold microcirculation (micro-vascular architecture, microvascular diameter, blood flow velocity in micro-vessel) in qigong functioning process was observed and analyzed. The pulse wave in digital-end artery was detected by photoelectric transducer and power spectrum (FFT) analysis was conducted. The conclusion of observation and analysis: 1. In Qigong state, the peripheral micro-circulation of human body changes obviously, the number of the opened network of micro–vasculature increases, micro–vascular diameter increases and the velocity of blood flow in micro–vessel increases. 2. From the FFT power spectrum of digital–end pulse wave it is can be seen that in qigong state the frequency of one-order harmonic wave decreases, each spectrum crest moves, cardiac rate decreases. 3. In Cadging state, the energy of digital-end pulse increases and concentrates in 0-2 HZ frequency domain, and physiological metabolism function increases. 4. The FFT power spectrum of digital–end pulse can clearly show the changes of the states of qigong. It is a effective method for analyzing and studying the mechanism of qigong regulating and biological effect.
