  • Practice and Services:

Da Dao Chan Gong is a comprehensive system of Zen Qigong practiced in order to generate more vital energy and reach higher levels of spiritual and mental attainment. Strong functional health, emotional balance, and enlightenment are the main areas of study and practice. Da Dao Chan Gong takes its roots from "Emei Mountain" which is one of China's holiest Buddhist Mountains. It is covered with hundreds of Monasteries. The particular order that the Da Dao Chan comes from is that of Emei "Linji". It was a well-known school for training warrior monks to cultivate internal martial arts strength and eventually reaching upward stages of enlightenment through the use of Zen Qigong practices.
Grandmaster Weizhong Foo, the current 13th head of a 775-year Qigong Lineage from the sacred Emei Mountain created the Da Dao Chan Gong system. His direction and intention was to come to the West and disseminate the teaching of the Emei Linji Zong Traditional Life Science and Art System. By the year 2001 Grandmaster Foo had been in the United States for six years. With a much deeper understanding of the American culture and society, Grandmaster Foo started seeking cultivation paths and programs to suit society in the West. As the result of innumerable hours of thinking and meditation Da Dao Chan Gong – The Great Way Zen Qigong – an approachable, systematic and practical path to health, intelligence, and enlightenment was formed.
Within the Da Dao Chan Gong there are many Qigong forms and Zen Meditations utilizing Healing Sounds and Moving Energy. The system is laid out in an orderly style, which removes guesswork about what to do or how to practice. Da Dao Chan Gong has its deep roots in Zen Buddhism and transcending attachments. 'Da' means 'Great' and 'Dao' means 'The Way'. It is a 'way of life' that creates beings of compassion, wisdom, and power. This particular system emphasizes internal cultivation and cleansing the heart through internal work of detachment from agony and bitterness, embodiment of virtue & achievement, and Attainment of Grace & Serenity.

On going Zen Qigong classes offered on Wednesday's from 6:00 to 7:30 PM at the Center for Spiritual Living in Orlando, FL. The classes are open to all and there is no fee for classes, donations will be accepted to cover administrative costs. The class format focuses primarily on Grandmaster Foo's Wuji Gong Form from the Da Dao Chan System.
This first Qigong form is incredibly easy for most people to learn and practice regardless of previous experience. Most of the warm up exercises are as simple as slight shoulder rotations and knee rotations that help practioners prepare for the Wuji portion of the form. Wuji, in short, stands for limitless, formless, and the empty state. Essentially during this portion of the form practitioners allow the energy to guide their movements with no explicit instructions. This can be likened to a moving meditation that allows practitioners to reach higher states of consciousness.
In additional to the Wuji practice, every week there will be additional topics covered on Zen Heart Cultivation as well as practicing more advanced Qigong forms utilizing breath and sacred healing sounds. New students may join the classes at any part of the rotating cycle with out concern for previous lessons.
