  • Training:
Training for the services the Jade Phoenix offers has come from many places over many years. The study of T'ai Chi and Chi Kung started in 1987 with Sidney Austin. Other viewpoints were assimilated into my own practice as I attended workshops led by seasoned T'ai Chi players, among them Jay Dunbar, Chris Luth, Don Miller, TK Shih and Yang Jwing Ming. In 1994 I began working with Ron Diana in the New Jersey chapter of the Healing Tao USA. The combination of movement, meditation and hands-on therapies the Healing Tao presents was the impetus for the creation of Jade Phoenix. Presently I am a Healing Tao instructor, a member of the National Qigong Association and a Qigong Therapist certified by TK Shih. Complementary hands-on therapies include Chi Nei Tsang (internal organ massage, taught by Ron Diana and Larry Tupper, beginning in1994), CranioSacral Therapy (through Upledger Institute, beginning in 1998) and Sound Therapy (through various practitioners, beginning in 1996).

  • Practice and Services:
Getting things moving and keeping them moving is the primary focus of Jade Phoenix. I spent over 18 years in corporate America, experiencing first-hand how stuck we can get in ideas of dominance, power and the always-present fear of losing our benefits. The ideas translate into behaviors, which can – in turn - translate into physical postures and movements designed hold onto our dominance, power and benefits. Holding on denies the one firm rule of the universe: change. When the unexpected hits, and we try to stick with established habits and patterns, we find ourselves uprooted, without the ability to go with the flow. Jade Phoenix uses the internal and external movement of T'ai Chi and Chi Kung and the internal movement of meditation and hands-on therapies to get the tissues open, the fluids flowing and our life force - our chi - honored. Each moment is an opportunity to grow through change, and it is for our best, regardless of what it feels like at the moment.
