What is Qi Gong?

Qi (chee): the energy that sustains all life. Gong: cultivation. Qi Gong: the cultivation of energy, sometimes defined as “breathwork.” Qi Gong is a cornerstone of Traditional Chinese Medicine that utilizes breathing techniques and slow, graceful movements to develop vital qi and enhance the body’s natural ability to heal itself. Thousands of styles are practiced by millions of people worldwide every day. Primarily, people practice Qi Gong to gain strength and improve health, or to foster a more meaningful connection with nature and the universe. At the Qi Gong Institute of Summit County, we focus on medical and spiritual Qi Gong. Individual sessions aim to develop and enhance your energy while dissolving stress. Self-healing practices and/or nutritional advice also accompany each session. Our goal is to provide you with the skills to heal yourself and deepen your connection with the world around you.
